The G7 Leaders

The G7 are the wealthiest seven nations in the world. Their heads of state meet yearly at the G7 Summit, to be hosted this year by Canada in June.

The G7 are important because they can, and have in the past, used their Summit to reach agreements on issues like poverty, debt or global AIDS. This makes their meeting more than just an empty discussion but rather something that commits their governments to taking specific actions that affect millions of people in impoverished countries.

They are also important because they represent a commanding majority at the Boards of major lending agencies like the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Together they can force changes in the policies of these institutions.

On this page we will present information to help you track the performance of these leaders. We will periodically post action alerts that will help you join the global chorus telling the G7 leaders to do their part to Donate the Dollars, Treat the People and Drop the Debt.
